The Brian & Betsy Farmer Scholarship for High School Seniors Scholarship

The Brian & Betsy Farmer Scholarship was established in 2018 in honor of the Farmers’ love and leadership for the youth of First Baptist Church Salisbury.

The award amount varies year to year, with amounts ranging from $500-$1,000. In 2020, the scholarship will be awarded no later than April 1, 2020.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to read all directions carefully and follow instructions completely. Any questions may be directed to the Farmer Scholarship Committee.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • 1 High school senior student with a minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Include an official transcript with GPA with your application.
  • 2 Accepted and plan to enroll in a two or four year undergraduate degree program of an accredited college, university, or community college.
  • 3 Active church member of First Baptist Salisbury for 24 months prior to the application deadline.
  • 4 Current letter of reference from a non-family member. It should contain the date of composition along with reference’s contact information, including email address or phone number.
  • 5 An academic letter of reference from the current school year; someone familiar with your academic achievements. (teacher, counselor, etc.). It should contain the date of composition along with contact information, including email address or phone number.
  • 6 Completed application with applicant’s signature, the date, and official transcript with GPA submitted to the church office or via email on or before 12:00 noon on Friday, February 28, 2020. Late applications will not be considered.
  • 7 Scholarship recipient is expected to be in attendance for the Sunday senior graduation ceremony at First Baptist Church. The award recipient will be recognized at that time.
